Superdrug Haul

Hello my lovelies!

I hope you're all having a lovely Thursday as I come to you with a new haul, this time from one of my most favourite shops for all things beauty, Superdrug! I'm honestly a sucker for their make-up & skincare collections, & it has come on leaps & bounds since I started shopping there many years ago. If I could, I would spend every single penny I owned in that store! Here are just a few things I've purchased recently & I'm rating at the moment, I hope you enjoy!

MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer

MUA (MakeUpAcademy) is one of Superdrug's own instore brands, & has to be one of my favourite in terms of range of products, quality & cost-effectiveness. I first spotted MUA about two years ago when searching for a neutral colour eye palette which looked the part but didn't break the bank (one of which I'm actually reviewing in this post) & I haven't looked back since. I have to admit, sometimes some of the products can be a little hit & miss in terms of packaging, but in terms of quality of the actual product, you cannot go wrong; easy on the purse & on the eye, you cannot get much better than that!

This particular product is a relatively new addition to MUA's 'Pro-Base' range, an eye-shadow primer, designed to increase the longevity of your eye-shadow & reduce risk of fading & creasing. This was infact the first eye primer I've purchased, & in my opinion, it does a fabulous job; My eye-shadows did last longer worn on top of this base, & on application, appeared more vibrant & rich in colour. However, after a long day in the office, I had noticed that some creasing & smudging had taken place, which was a little disappointing. For the money you're spending, it is a real steal, & does do it's job, but I do think there are likely to be better eye-shadow primers on the market if you're willing to spend a little more!

MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist

Fixing mists were something I'd heard little about prior to purchasing my own, & to be honest, I was a little doubtful, The thought of spraying something on my face to set my make-up put me off (isn't that what powders are for?) & I was a little wary of any adverse effects it might have on my skin or around my eyes, or how effective it would be at actually keeping my make-up in place; wouldn't anything liquid just cause my foundation to slide off? However, I was pleasantly surprised. It does exactly what it says on the packet & keeps your make-up from fading throughout the day, it smells really pleasant, & it doesn't feel sticky or tacky once on. In fact, the consistency means it's barely noticeable when wearing it! If you want something to help your make-up stay looking fresh during the day, yet want to achieve a glowing, dewy complexion, very often hard to achieve when wearing a powder as a fixer, then I'd honestly recommend a fixing spray of some kind; this one is extremely affordable, retailing at around £5 from Supedrug, so go & get your hands on it while it's still here, I can see this being a hot buy in the next couple of months!

MUA Eyeshadow Palette in Dusk Till Dawn

MUA eye-shadow palettes are my guilty pleasure, & so I simply jumped to the chance to try out a new contender as soon as I saw this hit the shelves. The eye-shadows from MUA, as a whole, are absolute steals; the palettes often retail at between £4-£6, & the individual eye-shadows are a £1 each, so you really cannot go wrong. As I've found with the majority of MUA eye-shadow's, the depth of colour you get when you first apply it on your eyelid is fantastic, & the shades are highly blendable, allowing you to create an endless array of looks. When I swatched the shades on my hand initially, they gave a brilliant finish; the whole palette is metallic, yet the final result isn't too shimmery or brash, making the shades one hundred percent wearable for during the day. This particular palette, called 'Dusk Till Dawn', is perfect for autumn, comprising of  mixture of rich, autumnal shades, such as the teal shade, Lysithea, & the range of browns & coppers, mirroring the colours most often seen at this time of year. As we move into the colder, wintery months, the make-up we wear often transitions from barely there & fresh faced, to bolder, often opting for darker colours worn on the lips & eyes, & this palette captures this perfectly. With such a variety of shades in such a limited number of colours, this palette is perfect for anyone wanting an all rounder to take them from day to night, & the metallic shimmer means it's a perfect collection as we move into the festive, party season! A real must-buy, I have to say!

Max Factor Face Infinity All Day Primer (SPF 20)

Primers, one of the most adored products of any beauty fanatic or blogger alike. Worn alone or under foundation, these wonderful little bottles of magic transform the look of your complexion to create a truly radiant canvas for you to then work with. I discovered primers a few years ago, & my first purchase was 'Clarins Baume Beaute Eclair', or beauty flash balm; I honestly have not looked back since. I loved the dewy finish it gave my skin, flawlessly evening out my complexion & creating the fresh faced look I think any beauty fanatic dreams to achieve. Since then, I've tried a range of primers, & this one, from Max Factor, is my most current purchase. The consistency is quite thick, so just a touch goes a long way. The key to applying primers is to smooth them on to the skin, rather than blend in like you would do your moisturiser or foundation, as it prefers to soak into the surface of your skin & create a perfect base for your foundation, blurring any imperfections or visible pores you may have. I wear this alongside the 'Max Factor Colour Adapt Foundation' (my tone being No'40, 'Creamy Ivory') & I've honestly never known two products so perfectly made for each other, it is honestly a match made in heaven!

The description on the bottle, if you can just see it on the photo, says 'extends the wear of foundation', which is exactly what it does; I noticed, a couple of days into using this product, that my make-up was noticeably fresher looking after a day at work than it had been in the past, removing the need for touch up's during the day. Another little bonus you get with this product is the SPF 20 protection you get with it, meaning not only does it make your make-up look fabulous, it protects the delicate skin on you face in the process! Retailing at around £10.99, it's a good price for what you get, & the fact you only need such a tiny amount means it's likely to last, too!

I hope you've enjoyed reading my Superdrug Haul post! I have so many ideas for future weeks, so keep your eyes peeled! Until then, lovelies
