One thing I adore the most about the transition of Summer to Winter is the wonderful array of new colours & trends we begin to see as we head into the chillier months; The sugary sweet pastels & fresher, more delicate shades many of us opt for as the base colour palette to our make-up routines make way for much bolder & richer tones.

As we begin to move into more festive months, we tend to see an influx of darker & more shimmery shades, especially on nails & eyes. The three nail varnishes I picked highlight this perfectly; Deep bold colours which mirror the colours we tend to see around us, icy blues & rich berry reds. This particular red I picked gives just another tiny nod to the time of year; The 'Velvet Matte' texture is bound to look Luxe as we head into the party season.

With the lip colour, I chose a bold red, from Collection 2000, one of my favourite brands in terms of colour variety, & a more nude, warm Rimmel shade, 'Heather Shimmer'. I think this particular tone would be perfect if you tend to go for a stronger eye in Autumn,as it wouldn't draw away from the centre piece of your look, yet still has enough colour & presence.

Finally, the eye-shadows, again a bold variety of Autumnal shades, including rich browns, a handful of greys, a deep green & a collection of blues, ensuring for an endless array of looks to see in the colder season. The range of colours, despite the fact this is essentially a solely Winter based palette, means that it could be used throughout the year, both through the day & in the evening. Again, the matte texture, as with the nail polish, creates a very luxurious look; However, I feel a handful of shimmery shades thrown in there would complete the selection to create a perfect, Autumnal palette.
